2014 Dodge Charger SRT FAQ

What do Remote Start abort messages mean?

An EVIC Remote Start Aborted message indicates a door, hood, trunk, or low-fuel condition; an engine fault or low fuel may instead start the vehicle and shut it down after 10 seconds.

If EVIC displays Remote Start Disabled - Start Vehicle To Reset, cycle the ignition to ON/RUN; the message remains until then.

What should I do if the oil pressure warning light comes on?

Low engine oil pressure is what this light means; as soon as possible, stop the vehicle and turn off the engine.

Until the cause is corrected, do not operate the vehicle; check the engine oil level under the hood, since this light does not show the oil quantity.

How do I check the automatic transmission fluid level?

Routine checks are not required because the filler tube is capped and no dipstick is provided; an authorized dealer can check the level with a special service dipstick.

If you notice a fluid leak or transmission malfunction, have an authorized dealer check it immediately because an improper level can cause severe transmission damage.

When should I change the engine oil?

If the oil-change indicator appears, service the vehicle as soon as possible, within the next 500 miles (805 km).

Never exceed 6,000 miles (10,000 km) or six months, whichever comes first; change the oil at six months even without the indicator, and more often for dusty, very short-trip, or extended off-road driving.
