1. Keep metal objects, other immobilizer keys, electronic equipment, and magnetic-strip cards away from the key.
2. Press the brake pedal; the power switch indicator light flashes green.
3. Center the key emblem on the power switch; its green indicator light turns on.
4. Press the power switch.
5. If the indicator flashes amber, the system can start, but have the vehicle checked by an Authorized Mazda Dealer as soon as possible. If the green indicator does not turn on, repeat the steps from the beginning, then have the vehicle checked if it remains off.

1. Press the knob while removing the key cover.
2. Remove the auxiliary key.
3. Pull the driver's door handle while inserting the auxiliary key.
4. Turn and remove the auxiliary key; the door unlocks.
5. Return the auxiliary key to its original position and insert the cover tabs.

On some models, remote engine starting via Connected Service may prevent Rear Seat Alert from activating.

Do not rely on the system; always visually check the second- and third-row seats before leaving the vehicle.

Do not use a wire brush, because it can damage the fine particulate coating on the iridium alloy and platinum tips.

In the U.S. and Canada, a non-genuine fuel-filler cap may cause a fuel or emission system malfunction and illuminate the check engine light.

Keep the charge cable at home; if you keep it in the vehicle, store it in the cargo sub compartment.

Unlock the driver's door; if the vehicle system still does not unlock the charge connector, consult an Authorized Mazda Dealer.
