2023–2025 Mercedes-Benz C-Class FAQ

How does the departure time affect charging and predicted driving range?

2025

Set a departure time to predict the approximate state of charge and range at that time.

With fast charging off, up to 90% charges immediately and may pause; with fast charging on, charging starts immediately regardless of departure time.

How should I maintain the high-voltage battery during long idle periods?

2025

  • For longer idle times, switch off with 25% to 30% charge, avoid permanently connecting it to power, and avoid high outside temperatures.
  • Check the charge every six weeks, recharge below 15%, and keep the 12 V battery connected so the high-voltage battery can be monitored.

2024

Charging may take longer because of high or low outside temperatures, a low or high battery charge level, or the charging facility's maximum available current.

Where is the tire-change tool kit, and is one included with every vehicle?

Most vehicles are not equipped with a tire-change tool kit; where provided, it is in the tool bag in the trunk, while plug-in hybrids store it in the trunk floor.

What does a flashing tire pressure warning light mean?

2024

If the telltale flashes for approximately one minute and then stays illuminated, the TPMS has a malfunction and may not detect low pressure as intended.

2023

  1. Check and adjust tire pressure only when the tires are cold: parked out of sunlight for at least three hours and driven less than 1 mile (1.6 km).
  2. Read the recommended pressure for current conditions, remove the valve cap, attach a tire pressure gauge, and read the pressure.
  3. If pressure is low, inflate to the recommended value; if high, release air and check it again with the gauge.
  4. Screw the valve cap back onto the valve after checking or adjusting the pressure.

What should I do if the vehicle says to check the brake fluid level?

2023

The message means there is insufficient brake fluid in the brake fluid reservoir.

Because braking may be impaired, stop safely as soon as possible, do not continue driving, consult a qualified specialist workshop, and do not add brake fluid.
